Jay-Z - ‘Party Life (original version)’
This is the version of ‘Party Life’ that they played at the listening sessions that reviewers would go nuts over; unfortunately, by the time the record came out, they couldn’t clear the Marvin Gaye sample so they had to use the kind of meh beat that ended up on the album.
I like the vibe on this one a lot more, it’s got a kind of soulful vibe, with the synths/strings sounding very laid-back and chill, kind of R Kelly-ish.
